Dato' Sri Abdul Wahid Has Launched The Official SCP Web Portal
Since 2012, the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister’s Department has been coordinating the Sustainable Consumption and Production Policy Support Malaysia project, which is financially supported by the European Union. The EPU is also assisted by a team of international and national experts.
A SCP web portal was then created by the experts to convey the messages of SCP. It invites the audience to understand the ways our life would be enhanced by enabling our consumption and production patterns to be sustainable. When the Portal is constructed, the intention was to create a platform that is inclusive of every layer of the society. Therefore, the following sections are created: Consumers & Lifestyle, Business, Government, International, Knowledge, Opinions, Panorama, Nature, Tech & Products and Partners. These categories do not just reflect the sectors that we would like to address, they also represent the sources of our SCP stories.
At the Malaysia SCP Web Portal official launch event, the Team Leader of the SCP Malaysia team has kick-started the event by presenting the general concepts of SCP. Previously highlighted in the 11th Malaysia Plan, green growth is the main theme in the SCP project which is going to be reflected in the soon-to-be-introduced SCP blueprint. This SCP blueprint will guide the nation onto the path of green growth up until 2030 and beyond.
